Worship Ministry

	Everyone is welcome
	They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread and the prayers (Acts 2.42). Worship is the act praising and giving thanks to God. We give ourselves up in prayer and service, and God brings us together around a common table to become a community of faith. Please join us on Sunday for renewal and celebration. Believer's Baptism by Immersion

Jesus said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28.18) Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2.38) Baptism is the sign of new life in Jesus Christ. It unites the believer with Christ and his people in every age. Through baptism, we participate in Christ's death and resurrection. We receive forgiveness of sin, exodus from bondage, liberation into a new humanity undivided by race, sex or class. The Holy Spirit is active in baptism to save the lost. In Christ all things are made new. While we recognize the Spirit's activity present in other forms of baptism and thus will not "rebaptize," we baptize by immersion those who turn to God in faith, making their personal confession that Jesus is Christ.

Weekly Communion

"On the first day of the week the disciples gathered together to break bread... (Acts 20.7) Jesus' followers from the time of the apostles gather on the first day of the week for "the breaking of bread," what today we call Communion, the Lord's Supper, or Eucharist. Here in the heart of our worship, we remember with thanksgiving the saving acts of Jesus' death and resurrection, we receive anew the gift of salvation in God's Holy Spirit, and we anticipate the coming of the Realm of Christ on earth. In Communion, we bring our broken and sinful souls to receive healing, forgiveness and grace. Just as Jesus' first followers offered this meal freely to all, so do we. We believe Jesus himself is the host at the table, welcoming everyone to keep the feast.

The Whole People of God

To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. (1 Corinthians 12.7) All of God's people are called to discern the gifts which God has given. These gifts are for the common good of humankind. Some have gifts of communicating the Gospel, others of praying, healing, teaching, learning, serving, guiding, following or inspiring. All good gifts around us are from God. We understand ministry in its broadest sense to belong to the whole people of God, discerning and developing the gifts and talents of each. The laity are empowered to conduct all acts of ministry. Come worship with us and discover who God is calling you to be.

	Make a Joyful Noise
	Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful (Psalm 149.1b). Our Choir sings to the glory of God in anthem and hymn alike. From medieval chant to American spirituals, classical and modern, contemplative and bold, our music program is designed to offer praise and thanksgiving to God. We rehearse Wednesdays at 7:00. Visitors, guests, and first-time singers are welcome.

Godly Play

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." (Matthew 19.14) During worship, we invite the children to come forward for a special lesson that helps them understand the Bible passage for the day. Following this, they are led to a Children's Church session in which they participate in all the activities of worship in ways they can understand. They explore a Bible story in more detail, pray together, and share in the "feast." The program is based on Dr. Jerome Berryman's Godly Play, a worship curriculum designed to stimulate the imagination and awaken new experiences of God.
